👥 Volunteer Roles – Join the Team at North St  Ives Scouts

Here are the volunteer roles we’re currently seeking: 

Uniformed Assistant Leaders 

(Deep involvement in program delivery; requires training & WWCC) 

  • Assistant Joey Leader 

  • Assistant Cub Leader 

  • Assistant Scout Leader 

Role & Skills: Work alongside uniformed Leaders to plan/run activities, uphold child-centred Scout values, and support youth development. 

Time Commitment: ~2–4 hrs per week (prep + meeting time), plus leader training and occasional weekend events. 

Training: WWCC, Scout Leader Training modules (scoutsnsw.com.au) 

Group Committee & Support Staff 

(Non-uniformed, governance or specialist tasks; flexible hours) 

  • Group Deputy Chairman 

  • Assistant Group Registrar 

Role & Skills: Assist Group Chair, manage finances, promote via communications, and support member registrations. Ideal for those with admin, accounting, or organizational skills. 

Time Commitment: ~2 hrs per week; up to 2 hrs Group Committee meeting monthly. 

Event, Facilities & Fundraising Roles 

(Hands-on, practical roles; ideal for parents/adult helpers) 

  • Assistant Fundraising Manager 

  • Assistant Hall Hire Manager 

  • Hall Maintenance Master (WH&S + repairs) 

  • Kitchen + Toilet Master 

  • Lost and Found Master 

  • Quartermaster (equipment storage and logistics) 

  • Graffiti Squad 

Role & Skills: From organising fundraising/venue bookings to maintaining our hall, kitchen, and gear. Help create a safe environment and keep the hall tidy and functional. Basic DIY, cleaning skills, and attention to detail are key. 

Time Commitment: Ad hoc (1–3 hrs/week), depending on events and maintenance needs (scoutsnsw.com.au, scoutsnsw.com.au) 

Digital & Uniform Support Roles 

  • Social Marketing Manager 

  • Second‑Hand Uniform Store Manager 

  • Second‑Hand Uniform Store Assistant 

Role & Skills: Enhance engagement through social media and digital content; manage a resale uniform store. Ideal for those with marketing, storytelling, or retail experience. 

Time Commitment: 1–3 hrs/week; more during campaigns or uniform season.
