Adult Recognition Award Nominations 2026

Every year, Scouts Australia recognises the outstanding contributions of its adult volunteers through the Adult Recognition Awards (ARA). These awards celebrate leaders and committee members who go above and beyond to support our Joeys, Cubs, Scouts, and families.

This year, North St Ives Scouts is putting forward nominations for several of our amazing adults – and we’d love your help.

How you can help

We are asking parents and families to share, in their own words, why these individuals should be recognised. Your input will be included in the nomination forms sent to Scouts NSW.

When writing, keep it simple and personal. A short paragraph or two is perfect. Share specific examples of how these leaders have made a difference to your child, the unit, or our Group.

What to include in your submission

Think about moments where you’ve seen these adults:

• Solve a problem, step in at a critical moment, or keep things running smoothly.

• Provide extra support for your child or the unit.

• Show commitment over and above what’s normally expected.

• Make an event or activity special.

Tips from Scouts Australia:

• Be specific—dates, events and examples are really useful.

• Use simple, heartfelt language—your story helps bring the impact to life.

• Write a short paragraph—200–300 words is plenty.

About the Awards

• Special Service Award – for a noteworthy contribution to a Group, Section, or event over at least 12 months.

• Meritorious Service Award – for praiseworthy service over ~6–8 years, delivered at a higher-than-expected level.

• Silver Wattle Award – for outstanding service over ~10–12 years, consistently high across multiple roles.
