🔥 Campfire Cooking a Sizzling Success!
🔥 Campfire Cooking a Sizzling Success!
What a cracking day it was at Warrimoo Scout Hall! Our Scouts and Cubs came together for a hands-on Campfire Cooking session — and rather than a simple snack, the group pulled off a full three-course dinner cooked entirely over an open fire.
The day kicked off with fire safety fundamentals, giving youth members the essential skills and rules for building and managing a campfire safely before any cooking began.
Then it was down to business. First up, a starter of baked camembert with peach — rich, gooey and a genuine surprise for a campfire menu. The main event was a lamb roast, slow-cooked over the coals until it was falling apart. And to finish, freshly made scones, baked right there by the fire.
It was a fantastic display of what's possible with nothing but flame, coals and a bit of patience — and a great reminder that campfire cooking can be as impressive as anything from a kitchen. Big thanks to the leaders who kept the fire (and the menu) running smoothly all day.
Another great example of Scouts building real skills, confidence, and a genuine sense of achievement around the campfire. 🍽️🔥
